IN THE KITCHEN

 

What fuel we nourish our bodies with has a definite effect on our psyche, emotions + overall well-being. When we eat clean (this can mean different things for different people -- and it's whatever works for you + your body!), we provide energy without burdening the body with extra work of filtering out junk. We simply become more efficient human beings, digesting more smoothly + taking in nutrients optimally. Our outsides reflect this cleanliness as well, through our largest organ: the skin. And that extra energy not spent processing heavy toxins leaves us physically + mentally charged, ready for activities we actually enjoy spending time doing, which enrich our lives -- It's a fantastic cycle. With less foggy minds, we have the clarity to make decisions with awareness, which are often in line with a higher Self.

In consuming cleanly + with awareness you'll be living out some of the most deeply rooted yoga teachings.

Saucha (purity/cleanliness) + Ahimsa (non-violence) are principles I live by when it comes to nourishment. If we eat with this awareness, we will have less waste + regret over food choices, better digestion, and a hieghtened connection to our roots- the earth. Not to mention, it's a ton of fun to get together with people that make you smile, and create new bonding memories over mouth-watering meals. Find some here on my IN THE KITCHEN blog.
